Saint Bartolomus church

Situated in the area known as Kreuschlach above Gmünd you will find the Church dating back to the middle ages. The earliest documentation of the church dates back to 1426. Vestments from this church as far back as the 15th century can be seen in the Museum of Klagenfurt. In 1518 the church was restored. The patron saint of the church is Saint Bartholomew. Scenes from his life in art form can be seen on the paintings behind the altar. In 1690 following a severe earthquake the tower was destroyed. This information about the restoration of the tower is stated on the arc over the entrance.
